Born Napier 13 October 1938. Married 1966 Carol Robin Trickett; four children – Shelley, Tanya, Lara, Scott.
Educated Napier Boys’ High School.
Formerly political and economic journalist The Dominion 1967-68, parliamentary correspondent and Wellington bureau chief NZ Herald 1968-74, news director Capital City Radio 1974-77, NZ Planning Council 1977-79.
