Sheep Industry in France.

Dr Creelman, the president of the Ontario Agricultural College, was very favourably impressed with the sheep industry in France during his visit to that country last year.  These […], he thinks, are playing a very important part in the agricultural development now going on in France.  […] sheep are now found everywhere, and the Canadian visitor was particularly struck with the personal attention given to individual lambs.  A […], “where twins are born one is always taken from the mother and placed in the “nursery.”  Here the “orphans” are fed from a common rack of bottles, ten in a set.  This ingenious contrivance saves a lot of time in feeding and seems to please the youngsters very much.  These little fellows are given barley meal and seed cake very early.”  The […] to be most important in France, where the Berkshire-Yorkshire cross was everywhere popular.  Dr Creelman saw a litter of seven of this cross, still “suckers,” sold for £12.  Throughout the entire country all young pigs not intended for breeding, were out as sucklings, the males at five weeks and the females at three weeks old.
