Born Tawapata, 4 April 1933, son of William Kaho Hemopo and Janice Rea (née Hotu); married Caroline Te Rauhina Greening, daughter of Charles and Eva Greening, 1955; one son three daughters.
Maintenance and Construction Supervisor; awarded GM for actions January 1970 when 11 men trapped by cave-in at the western portal of the Kaimai Tunnel railway construction project.  Honorary Fisheries Officer; Chairman, Tangaroa Fishing Board O te Runanganui o Ngati Kahungunu; Vice Chairman, Wairoa Tai Whenua o te Runanganui O Ngati Kahungunu; Trustee, Rongomaiwahine Trust, Tuahuru Marae Trustee; High Priest, High Councilman, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Recreations: deep sea fishing; scuba diving.
