Born Dannevirke 10 October 1910. Married 1944 Letty Martyn Williams; one child – Robert Jasper.
Educated Wanganui Collegiate School.
Manager Tautane Angus Cattle Stud 1939-72, now retired.
Director G.H. Scales Ltd from 1949, Williams and Kettle Ltd from 1950.
President Angus Cattle Breeders’ Association 1947-58, president Royal Agricultural Society 1978, president Hawke’s Bay A & P Society 1971-74, judged Angus Cattle at Perth, Scotland 1952 and Royal Show Sydney 1953, 1963.
Leisure activities include golf, fishing and gardening.
