Dear Sir,

re:  Hatch Cup Schoolboys’ Hockey Tournament.

This year Hawke’s Bay is host to 23 teams from all over New Zealand for the Hatch Cup Schoolboy Tournament from 27th August – 1st September.  We have had to billet 300 boys and Hastings have offered to take a high percentage of these.  Unfortunately, owing to petrol costs and car less days many billetors are unable to bring the boys through each day to Napier necessitating our committee laying on at least one bus a day from Hastings.  The cost is $55 for one bus per day and we wondered if your service Club would be willing to sponsor one bus (at a cost of $55) or contribute towards this expense for our tournament.
