Born Napier, 26 February 1917, son of George Edminston Jeffery and Shelah Ellen (née Taylor); married Syble Margaret Nicol, daughter of Stan and Lucy Nicol, 1951; three sons.
Education: Westshore and Ahuriri Primary Schools; Napier Boys’ High School.
RNZAF, 1939-1946 (Flight-Sargent). Member 1962-1974, Mayor 1974-1983, Napier City Council; Deputy Chairman, Hawke’s Bay Airport Authority, 1974-1983; Executive Member, Hawke’s Bay District Roads Council, 1974-1978; Chairman: Napier ANZAC Trust 1974-1981, Hawke’s Bay Branch, NZ Patriotic Cl 1974-1983; President, NZ Traffic Inst, 1969; Member, Lions, 25 years; Foundation Member, Napier Probus Club.
Recreations: bowls, other sports.
