Formerly part-time lecturer Economics Department, Victoria University of Wellington.
Participated in Targets Committee, National Development Conference 1968, past councillor NZ Demographic Society, national councillor Market Research Society of NZ, member NZ Association of Economists, past president NZ Statistical Association.
Took part in UN Statistical Commission as member and rapporteur, UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific Committee on Statistics as chairman and rapporteur. Member International Statistical Institute, International Association for Official Statistics and International Association of Survey Statisticians.
Leisure activities include symphonic and chamber music, literature, horseracing, motoring and sport in general.
