Educated Hastings Girls’ High School; Otago University 1966-68 – BA 1969; NZ Library School, Wellington – NZLA 1970.
Worked in libraries in Dunedin, Wellington and London, instructor at reading workshop in Montreal, Canada 1975-76.
Currently self-employed film producer Meridian Film Productions Ltd and Preston-Laing Productions.
Past executive member Independent Producers’ and Directors’ Guild (NZ).
Produced feature films Ruby and Rata and Mr Wong and the documentary Victory Over Death.
Supervising producer Dangerous Orphans and Send a Gorilla.
Member NZ Film Commission.
Leisure activities include gardening.
