HASTINGS.

Dear Friends,

Greetings.

We are half way through another year – the third year that the ‘Landmark’ Home has been in Hastings.

Due to the lack of workers we have had a very quiet few months, with three girls in the house until June, when Myra moved into a flat and Dianna returned to Hamilton and her family leaving only Johanna.  We have had a few other folk for brief stays, but have been unable to use the home to capacity in spite of constant requests from people to come.

My mother has been caring for the girls since the end of January but returns to Hamilton at the end of this month, when Mrs Doris Hills will move to Hastings for a while, so we will be open for ‘Business! once again.  Gaynor Lincoln of Rotorua has recently joined our staff in Hamilton, Gaynor is a school teacher and has recently graduated from Faith Bible College.

Mrs Peggy Goodall is now working for the Dept. of Social Welfare in Paeroa, and Fay Beebe who worked with us in 1977 gets married in Hamilton next Saturday and will be moving to Fairlie.

We have recently compiled a statistical report and have had twelve girls through the home during the past year, many of whom we still have in contact with and who are coping well in their present situations and ‘going on for God’.

We do appreciate the loads of firewood that have kept us warm through the winter, and the other ‘goodies’ that appear from time to time.  We also appreciate Mr Meehan’s regular help in the garden. Do continue to pray for ‘Landmark’ – we need your prayer and your support.  Pray especially that God will release more workers to us; Pray for the girls that we seek to help and minister to, also for our financial needs having had only a few girls in the house has made it difficult to meet our financial commitments, e.g. mortgage.

Mat [May] God richly bless you,
Sincerely
Pat and the ‘Landmark’ team.
