THE ACETONE ILLUMINATING & WELDING CO. LTD.
To W.H. NELSON ESQ.,
“Laureston”,
Woodville.
Dear Sir,
On the occasion of your voluntary retirement from the Board of Directors after 31 years’ continuous service, the last 9 of which you were Chairman, we desire to place on record our appreciation and thanks for your services and our high regard and esteem for your many sterling qualities. We appreciate the fact that your retirement is due solely to your advancing years, and venture to remind you that you joined the Board on 22nd June, 1916, and were elected Chairman on 26th July, 1938.
This is not the only Company that has taken advantage of your wise counsel, and the success now enjoyed by all those with which you have been associated is largely due, we believe, to your business acumen and foresight.
We acknowledge your ability and leadership in the realms of business and in the fields of sport. Your prowess as a rifle shot was known not only in this country but also at Bisley, England. Your enthusiasm and skill in the art of fly-fishing and duck-shooting have earned for you the respect of your fellow sportsmen and provided you with many hours of relaxation and enjoyment. May memory retain for you many happy recollections of your successes in all the fields of your operations.
We ask you on behalf of your fellow Directors and the Shareholders of the Company to accept this Illuminated Address as a small token of the respect and goodwill you have inspired in us all.
Your very sincerely,
