RE: DECORATIVE ARTWORK PANELS – EMERSON STREET, NAPIER

The Napier City Council invites you to submit a design proposal for decorative artwork panels on selected items of street furniture chosen for the redevelopment of Emerson Street.  In particular the items concerned are bollards and seat units.

Enclosed are the specification for the commission; the form of Contract; a sketch drawing of the seats and bollards; and a newspaper article which clearly summarises the concept plan and the thinking behind it.  In addition an artist’s impression of the redeveloped Emerson Street are available for viewing at the offices of the Town Planning Department, Napier City Council.

Submissions of design proposals and C.V.’s are to be received at the reception area of the Town Planning Department by 4.00 pm, Wednesday, 27 August 1991.  Three commissions will be awarded with a fee of $7,000 payable for each.  No fees are offered for the submission of proposals.

The work covered by these Commissions is for the first stage of redevelopment only – from Hastings Street to Dalton Street.  Further commissions may be awarded for the latter stages of the redevelopment.
