Dear Mrs Curtis,

It is proposed to submit your name to The Queen for the award of Queen’s Service Medal for Community Service (Q.S.M.) on the occasion of Her Majesty’s Birthday, in recognition of your services to New Zealand, and I should be glad if you would inform me as soon as possible whether the proposed distinction would be acceptable to you.

I feel sure you will realise that the matter should be treated as strictly confidential until you hear from me again.

Yours sincerely,
