Born Napier 28 June 1927. Married 1966 Margaret Laycock.
Educated Auckland Grammar School; Auckland University College 1946-48 – Bachelor of Arts 1949; Auckland Teachers’ College – Diploma of Teaching. 1949. FLCM 1953.
Awarded University Junior Scholarship 1945.
Formerly secondary school teacher, lecturer in English at Ardmore Teachers’ College, currently part-time tutor in Department of Continuing Education Auckland University.
Chairman, Auckland Region, Post Primary Teachers’ Association 1980, 1981.
President Auckland University District Graduates’ Association; honorary treasurer Heraldry Society, Fellow 1990.
Chairman St Andrew’s Branch, Eden Electorate and member of Policy and Education Committees Auckland division, NZ National Party.
Member Executive Council Auckland Performing Arts Competitions Society, vice-president 1968-90; vice chairman, Committee for Educational Travel, the China Navigation Co 1964-72.
Leisure activities include heraldry, calligraphy, music.
Address 40 Landscape Road, Mt Eden, Auckland.
