Married 1956 Hohepa Berry Walford Maihi; five children – Teotaea Lee (b […]), Toia Kerry (b […]), Teo Taane Walford (b […]), Whai Alan (b […]), Paul Manaaki (b […] – whangai).
Educated Queen Victoria School for Maori Girls; Auckland Teachers’ Training College.
Part-time tutor ATI Centre for Professional Development, freelance artist, tutor, writer; formerly primary, secondary school teacher; Taihape/Waiouru district president Maori Women’s Welfare League.
Publications include illustrations for Nga Kokako Huataratara (poetry by Arapera Hineira Kaa Blank, Waiata Koa, 1986), Papakainga (poetry by Trixie Te Arawa Menzies, Waiata Koa, 1988); stories and poems in anthologies; numerous articles; numerous solo, group exhibitions from 1978 of paintings, fibre pieces throughout NZ, commissioned work in Wellington, Auckland, Hamburg, Birmingham.
Foundation member Aotearoa-Moana-nui-a-Kiwa weavers’ committee, Awataha Marae, Northcote, Auckland, founder member Waiata Koa.
