McEWAN, Paul Maxwell
Max died reluctantly on August 31, 2012
Born in Melbourne 1922 (Libra), second child to Paul James McEwan and Evelyn Olive Farrell, with forebears from County Clare and County Armagh; brother to the late Edward Kevin (ex 2nd AIF) and Peter More (ex RAF).
During World War II Max flew with the RAAF, 82 Squadron (Kittyhawks), 81 Fighter Wing in the westward drive against the IJA through New Guinea, the Halmahera Islands and Borneo.
Marriage with Vena Alison Lascelles (deceased) produced four delightful children: Pamela Vena deKlerk (Melbourne), Claire Eady (Whangarei), Ross Maxwell (London), Craig Peter (Auckland) who along with their spouses Gary, Stephanie and Rachelle, lovingly care for the next generations, the grandchildren, Michelle, Nicholas, Sarah, Jared, Hana, Kara, Liam and Aidan, and great-grandchildren Jake and Taya, all standing tall, the treasures of the nation.
An enduring friendship with Margot Young, family lined to Magherafelt, further enhanced the Irish diaspora.
No funeral at Max’s request.
