Clerical career until marriage, 1941; sheepfarmer’s wife; Women’s Division Federated Farmers NZ: actively involved all levels 1956-90, National President 1984-87, International Officer 1987-91, first Homecare Administrator, Life Member 1987, Hawke’s Bay Province Life  Member; WDFFNZ Representative to Associated Country Women of the World conference: Perth 1974, Nairobi 1977, Hamburg 1980, Vancouver 1983, Killarny 1986, Kansas 1989; National Executive Member, Countrywomen’s Co-ordinating Committee, 1980-87; Trustee, Scotlands-Te Kiteroa WDFF Charitable Trust, 1984-91; Member, Nuffield Farming School Selection Committee, 1986-87; involved NZ Litter Council (Award of Merit), NZ Crippled Children Society (Honorary Vice-president 1984-87), Save the Children Fund, Birthright (Hawke’s Bay); Director, Farming House (Hawke’s Bay) Ltd, 1981-86; Elder, Session Clerk, Presbyterian Church.
