McKnight, Robert In Memoriam Notice 1984

McKNIGHT, Robert.
In fond and loving memory of my Dad, and friend, passed away February 4, 1978.
A thousand words won’t bring you back,
I know because I’ve tried.
And neither will a million tears,
I know, because I’ve cried.
My heart still aches with sadness,
And secret tears still flow.
For what it meant to lose you Dad,
Only I will really know.
I’d give everything I own,
For a fifteen minute chat.
So you could meet my kids,
Enjoy a quiet smoke and,
Talk of this and that.
It had to be, we knew the score,
God knew too, and said “no more.”
But why oh why did it have to be,
The only man, my dearest Dad,
Who made every living day a special treat.
Maria.
