Minutes of Meeting of the Club held in the Y.M.C.A. Rooms on Monday the 8th. February 1926 at 12/45 p.m.

Present.   25 Members, 2 visitors.

Dr. H. M. Wilson gave a very interesting and instructive address on certain aspects of his recent visit to America, at the conclusion of which he was accorded a hearty vote of thanks.

 

MINUTES OF MEETING
of the
BOARD OF DIRECTORS.

A Meeting of the Board of Directors was held in the Club Tea Rooms on the 5th. February 1926, at 12-30 p.m.

Present.   President Gardner, Vice President Hallett, Rotarians Rowe, Hobbs: and Rainbow.

Apology for absence was received from Rotarian Hyslop.

Minutes.   The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.

The District Governor’s Monthly Letter for January was received.

The District Governor’s letter re Dunedin Conference was read, and it was decided that it be brought up again at next Monday’s Luncheon.

A letter from the Napier Rotary Club re Rotarian Lamb was received, and it was resolved, “That as the notice was so short, and we had arranged for a lecturer, it would not be possible for the Club to be represented in a body at the Napier Luncheon.

Leave of absence was granted to Rotarian Mason Chambers for the next three meetings.

Minutes of Meeting of the Club held in the Y.M.C.A Rooms on Monday the 15th. February 1926 at 12-45 p.m.

Present.   20 Members, 1 Visitor.

A very interesting address was given by Mr. C. E. Danialls on a motor trip through California, Oregon and. Washington.

MINUTES OF MEETING
of the
BOARD OF DIRECTORS.

A meeting of the Board of Directors was held in the Club Tea Rooms on Thursday the 18th. February 1926 at 12-30 p.m.

Present.   President Gardner, Vice President Hallett, Rotarians Rowe, O’Meara, Hobbs and Rainbow.

NEW MEMBER.   F. Perrin’s nomination to be approved by the Membership Committee, so that it may be published in this week’s circular letter, Subject to his beings elected, Mr. Perrin is to be appointed Secretary of the Club, at a salary of £25, plus dues and entrance fee. Meantime the Club is to pay the cost of his transport to and from Dunedin, in order that he may be able to attend the Conference. The matter of completing these arrangements with Mr. Perrin was left in the hands of Vice President Hallett.

WELLINGTON CLUB.   A letter from the Wellington Club suggesting a levy of 2/6 per Member to provide funds to make a presentation to the Hon. George at the Dunedin Conference, was read. It was agreed that the Club’s cheque for the amount of the levy as suggested be forwarded to the Wellington Club;

NOMINATING COMMITTEE FOR OFFICERS FOR ENSUING YEAR.   It was agreed that this matter should be brought up at next Monday’s meeting, and this Committee be elected on that day.

MUSICAL DIRECTOR.   The Chairman undertook to see Mr. Bewley with a view to the encouraging of singing at the Club meetings.

LEAVE OF ABSENCE.   Granted P. Gibson six months.
Granted A. Giorgi three weeks.

Minutes of Meeting of the Club held in the Y.M. C.A. Rooms on Monday the 22nd. February 1926 at 12-45 p.m.

Present.   21 Members. Apologies were received from Rotarians Giorgi, Gibson, Holt, Lowe, J. Phillips, Slater and Westerman.

NEW MEMBER.   H. N. Stewart, a new member, was introduced by Rotarian Hyslop, and was Welcomed by Rotarian French.

NOMINATION COMMITTEE.   The following were appointed as Nomination Committee. – Rotarians Candy, Rowe, Lowe, Gordon Roach.

The question of the Band from the Wellington Boys Institute discussed at some length, and it was eventually agreed that the matter be referred to the Boys’ Committee to draw up a report which is to be presented at the next meeting.

Minutes of Meeting of the Club held in the Y.M.C.A. Rooms on Monday the 1st March 1926 at 12.45 p.m.

Present.   18 Members. Apologies for absence were received from Rotarians Budd, Richmond, and all Members away at the Conference.

The question of the visit of the Band from the Wellington Boys’ Institute was discussed, and it was resolved that the Club could take no responsibility in connection with this visit.

Rotarian Hallett announced that President Gardner would shortly leave on a visit to England, and expressed the Club’s appreciation of President Gardner’s ‘efforts on behalf of Rotary during the past two years, and on behalf of members wished him a pleasant voyage and safe return.

 

Minutes of Meeting of the Club held in the Y.M.C.A. Rooms on Monday the 8th. March 1926 at 12-45 p.m.

Present.   18 Members.

Opportunity was taken to wish Rotarian Candy, who is shortly leaving for England, a pleasant holiday and a safe return.

Rotarians French and Hughes spoke on their visit to the Dunedin Exhibition.

Minutes of Meeting of the Club held in the Y.M.C.A. Rooms on Monday the 15th. March l926 at 12-45 p.m.

Present.    20 Members. Apologies were received from Rotarians Gill, Hobbs, Holt Lowe and Dr. Roberts and Spinney.

Rotarians O’Meara, Harvey, Giorgi and Westerman spoke on the Dunedin Conference, and Rotarian W. C. Whitlock spoke on the Empire Development League.

The Nomination Committee have made the following nominations of Officers for the ensuing year. If any Member desires to make further nominations, he must notify the Secretaries in writing before 12 p.m. on Monday the 22nd. instant.
