Minutes of Meeting of
Board of Directors   Held in president’s residence at 7.30 pm on Monday 12th December 1927.

Present   president O’Meara and Rotarians Redgrave, Roach, Budd and Perrin (apology from PP [Past-President] Hallett

Minutes of 14 November Meeting were read and confirmed

President O’Meara reported that William […] had returned to Town and amount of £7.12.0 (to be recovered from members) was passed for payment.

Palmerston North Conference.   The president undertook to give the vocational address allowed to Hastings and the secretary reported that fifteen names (given and 7 women) were on the list for attending.

Re H. S. Bayliss – Secretary reported no attendance cards had been received since 3rd October. Case to be considered next meeting.

Luncheon catering – as club tearooms have given up catering for club, Rotarians Giorgi and Perrin were deputed to make fresh arrangements

Xmas greetings – It was decided that no special cards be sent out but a notice of thanks be minuted in first weekly notice after New Year.

Boy scouts appeal advertising account of 15/- was passed for payment.

Treasurer reported that £25.15.0 was owing for members dues unpaid.

Accounts for £31-15-9 were passed for payment

P. Pres Hallett’s notice of motion re alteration of constitution was held over till next meeting.

Minutes of meeting of club held in Y. M.C.A. at 12.45 pm on Friday 16th December 1927

present   18 Members   5 guests

past president Hallett (as Chairman Education committee) gave an address on the necessity for Rotary Education which was followed by a discussion in which Rotarians Cliff, Gardner, French Wheatley, and [… ] participated.

President O’Meara thanked the Speakers and wished members the Compliments of the season.

 

1928

Minutes of meeting of club held in YMCA at 12.45 pm, on Friday 20th January 1928.

Present – 18 members and 3 guests

No formal programme was arranged but president Bert and Rotarians Gifford, Giorgi, Cliff & French told members of some of the speakers holiday experiences.

Present   15 members  1 Speaker   4 Guests.

Mr. A. D. Morrisson MA. ME[?]. gave a graphic address on ‘Robert Burns’ which was greatly appreciated.

A number of tickets for a charity concert were disposed of by mock auction.
