Minutes 1932

Minutes of the Meeting of the Directors of the Hastings Rotary Club held at the residence of Rotarian Bathgate at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, 21st June, 1932.

PRESENT:   Rotarians Redgrave (chairman), Bathgate, Hendry, Brown, Griffiths, Rush-Munro and Kelsey, Apology was received from Rotarian O’Meara.

PROPOSED New MEMBERS.
As no nominations for proposed new members had been finalised, it was decided to bring these names forward at the next meeting. T. Proffitt, O. Krogh, A.D. Morris, McIsaacs and Bridge.

TREASURER’S REPORT.
The treasurer reported that the monies in hand as at 2lst. instant amounted to 69/9/11. Accounts for 10/11/- were passed for payment.

The treasurer reported that 8 subscriptions were outstanding.

LUNCHEON CHARGE.
It was reported that the caterer was prepared to reduce the luncheon charge to 1/6d. In view of this it was decided to reduce the charge to members to 2/- It was further decided that no guarantee with regard to numbers could be given to the caterer.

FUTURE PROGRAMMES.
Future programmes were discussed and preliminary suggestions were made as follows:-

June 24th – Mr. H.M. Campbell.
July 1st – High School Boys and address by Rotarian Hallett.
July 8th – Mr. V.A. Thomson – Shipping.
July 15th – Annual Meeting and address by Rotarian Ringland on a Rotary Subject.
July 22nd – Inauguration of new Officers. Invitation to be sent to the President of Napier Rotary Club to attend this meeting.

RESIGNATIONS.   Resignations were received from Rotarians C.H. Slater and W.A. Greer. It was decided to accept these resignations with regret and the secretary was instructed to write to Messrs. Greer and Slater.

LUNCHEON TABLES.
The secretary was authorised to spend up to £5 on having smaller luncheon tables made.

ANNUAL MEETING.
It was decided that the Annual Meeting of the Club be held on Friday, July 15th.

AUDITOR.   Rotarian G.H. Roach was appointed as auditor.

INAUGURATION OF NEW OFFICERS.
It was decided that the Inauguration of New Officers be held on Friday 22 July.

PHOTOGRAPH; DISTRICT CONFERENCE.
The secretary reported that Rotarian Rush-Munro had presented the Club with a photograph of the District Conference. It was resolved that a letter of appreciation be sent to Rotarian Rush-Munro.
