MINUTES:   Bryon summarised the minutes of the previous meeting.

BUSINESS ARISING:   Outward Bound. The committee should aim to get their nominees through the course during the committee year: suggested March-May. Applications will be sought from club members in October.

GENERAL BUSINESS:   Parkvale School. The committee should look at providing larger signs for the school crossing at the Heretaunga Street/Windsor Avenue intersection.  Bryon Brook will follow up with the school and Ministry of Transport.

Student Exchange. Charlie Trask reported that Anna [Ana] Apatu had been accepted by the Uxbridge Club. The Student Exchange District Committee is soliciting orders for Rotary blazers (approx. $40) to be worn by students overseas. Discussion ensued on the desirability of providing our students with suitable presents for their host families, and general information on our country. It was decided:
a)   To ask the club for $100 per student, for a blazer and a supply of books on New Zealand.
b)   To approach the Tourist & Publicity Dept for appropriate information material to help our travellers.

Jane Barraclough arrives from England next month.

75-Year Project. A resolution was put (Jack Agnew/Paul Jones) and passed, that no decision be made before all club members could have the opportunity for discussion at a Club Day. It was also decided that a letter be tabled at the next Directors’ meeting expressing the committee’s viewpoint.
