4.   GENERAL BUSINESS:
(a)   Speaker during Vocational Week. Bert Eising suggested to approach Alan Walker to talk about the “Printing Trade.”
L. Hoogerbrug undertook to make the enquiry.

(b)   Bert Eising expressed concern at the size of the Club and found it disturbing that there were many members with whom he had little or no contact. The other members present supported Bert’s views. L. Hoogerbrug said that as the Hastings Rotary has a tradition of social contact rather than that of a service Club, it may not be necessary to undertake ambitious projects.

(c)   Jubilee Project:
There was a brief discussion on possible projects. Generally it was queationed [questioned] whether it was necessary to undertake any thing large. L. Hoogerbrug suggested that the Jubilee be marked by an organised trip out of town for a weekend. Wairaki [Wairakei] was suggested as a venue. Rotarians and wives would travel there and back by car or bus. Generally the idea is to enjoy each others company, have dinner, play golf, go for walks boat rides etc.

(d)   Job talks:
Thought is to be given to job talks with “Hobbies” as additional scope.
