Minutes 1980-02-12 Community Service Committee

MEETING OF COMMUNITY SERVICE COMMITTEE HELD AT THE OFFICE OF COLIN BLACKMORE – TUESDAY 12TH FEBRUARY 1980 AT 5.30 P.M.

Present:   Colin Blackmore (Chair), Peter Single, Neil Donaldson, Des Peryer, Luke Wilson, Frank Darroch and Graham Scott.

Apologies:   Selwyn Begley, Tony Bone, Pat Chamberlain, Ray Custance, Bob Fish, Jim Redgrave, Richard Seton, Brian Aitken, Vel Velvin, Cyril Wilkie, Don Patterson.

Business Arising:

Town and Country Forum –
Colin Blackmore to see Selwyn Begley over date and venue.

Camberley Community Hall –
Peter Single gave resume of concept to date, concluded that proposed project to raise funds be placed before directors for approval and then outlined to club. Following this a subcommittee be formed, that would include representatives from the Community Hall Committee. Ideas coming forward for investigation were:
(1)   Disposal of excess city rubbish bags.
(2)   Garage sale possibly at vacant Ross Dysart & McLean’s building, suggested dates 5th May (collection) and 10th May (sale).

St John Street Day Appeal –
Date 29.2.80. Colin Blackmore to announce at club meeting seeking volunteers to assist.

Hastings Rotary Club Jubilee Trust –
Proposal circulated to club and presently in the hands of Ed. Bate.

Thank to Beryl and Colin Blackmore for refreshments.

Meeting concluded 6.45 p.m.
