MINUTES OF INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE HELD AT HOME OF GRAEME CLARKE ON 14.10.80

PRESENT:   Ian McPherson, Graeme Clarke, Ian Kilgour, Gordon Lee, Dael Therkleson, Bryce Jones, Hans Anderson [Andersen], Keith Sands.

APOLOGIES:   Tony Agnew, Piet van Asch, Des Peryer, Byron Brook, Neil Donaldson, Len Hoogerbrug.

LAST MEETING:   A very sincere vote of thanks was passed to Gordon Lee for hosting the previous meeting.

BREADLINE MEAL:   Caterer and Lodge O.K. on meal. Discussion held on logistics.
1.   Buy chopsticks and sell at profit
2.   Also provide spoons (rent a spoon) Ian McPherson to approach Kentucky Fry.
3.   Paper Utensils and cups, rice and curry – Bryce Jones and Gordon Lee
4.   Rubbish bags – Ian Kilgour
5.   Jugs from Caterer
6.   Table required near door for sale of utensils.
7.   Have to be reasonable with charge – perhaps $5.00 maximum
8.   Speaker?
9.   Might be appropriate to have Charles and Family introduced to Club

SHIPBOARD VISITS:   Next year.

FIJI PROJECTS:   Approach Jubilee Trust for subsidy.

BOOKS FOR FIJI:   Add books to normal Xmas appeal for toys. Air N.Z. might take collected books from Hastings to Hamilton.

PENS, PENCILS, PADS:   Raratonga [Rarotonga]  O.K. Ian McPherson to write to Jim Pine as to situation in Solomon Islands.

RARATONGA:   Cook Island Ministers lack theological back-up because there is no finance available.  Perhaps set of commentaries better than books.  Invite Sefton Campbell to meeting so that specific needs can be determined. Hamish McPherson might be available to bring slides of Raratonga.
