MINUTES OF THE CLUB SERVICE COMMITTEE MEETING, HELD ON TUESDAY, 9TH SEPTEMBER AT 5 .15 p.m. IN THE BOARD ROOM OF UNILEVER (N.Z.) LIMITED

PRESENT:   Rod Naylor (Chair), Brian Gurney, Ray Burney, Hans Andersen, Norman Lowe, Cyril Wilkie, Sandy Struthers, Alan Walker, Ian Sutherland, Ted Tucker, Derek Burns.

APOLOGIES:  Jim Hurford, Gordon Morley, John Mullany, Colin Young, Graham Clark [Clarke], Frank Crist, Terry Coxon, Gordon Lee, Dick Spence, Paul von Dadelszen, Don Patterson.

MINUTES:   The Minutes of the previous meeting were approved.

MATTERS ARISING FROM MINUTES:

Club Banners
The Chairman reported that a stock of Club Banners had been found.

GENERAL BUSINESS:

BANNERS   Concern was expressed at our Banner display. Cyril Wilkie offered to look at the stand and see what can be done to improve the display.

GUEST SPEAKERS   The Chairman reported that the Program Committee had a good number of names of prospective speakers.

INSCRIBED PENS   It was agreed that we purchase pens for presentation to Speakers, as a token of thanks.

MEMBERSHIP   Brian Gurney advised that the Membership Committee now had a list of vacant classifications.   It was agreed that a member of the Membership Committee be asked to speak to the Club on ways of finding new members.

ATTENDANCE   Concern was expressed at the decrease in attendance at Luncheons – Ray Burney has offered his office phone for the receiving of Apologies, if this Policy is to be accepted.

BULLETIN   To note Members who are credited with Make-ups.
