Minutes 1986-09-23 AGM

MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF THE ROTARY CLUB OF HASTINGS HELD AT THE MASONIC HALL ON TUESDAY, 23 SEPTEMBER AT 12.30 P.M.

PRESENT

Past President Derek Burns and 61 members.

APOLOGY

President Graeme Robson (overseas).

BUSINESS

1.   Past President Derek presented his Report for the 1985-86 Rotary Year, highlighting one or two topics.

2.   Copies of all Committee Chairmen’s Reports were distributed to members. It was Moved Derek/Len “That these Reports be received”. Passed

3.   Hastings Rotary Charitable Trust

After some discussion and explanation, it was Moved Colin/Rod N. “That Roger Bate replace Sir Edwin Bate as a member of the Charitable Trust”. Passed

4.   Finance

Colin gave an outline of the Club’s Finances, and showed the need to clear the deficit of the past year and meet rising costs by implementing the recommendation of the Directors. Accordingly it was Moved Colin/Frank “That the Directors’ Recommendation to the Club be implemented – viz. That the Annual Subscription be increased to $150.00”. Passed

N.B. This is the first increase in over two years, and represents a rise of 11%, which is considered satisfactory in view of inflation.

CLOSURE

The meeting closed at 1.40 p.m.
