ROTARY CLUB OF HASTINGS INC.

Minutes of meeting of Directors of the Rotary Club of Hastings held at 5.15pm on December 10th, 2007 at The Manse, 203 Kariatiana [Karaitiana] Road, Frimley.

Present: Craig Kilgour (Chair); Alison Small; Ron Walker; Graeme Richardson; Pelle Frykberg and Shirley Flaus.

Apologies: Were sustained from Roger Walker & John Peryer.

Previous Minutes: As circulated were confirmed.

Various Newsletters to relevant Committee Directors.
Rotary Friendship Exchange Vacancies.
Hastings Dis. Council Notice of Community Forum
D.G. John’s request for Info re Clubs’ PHF Awards and new Members inducted.
Rotary Club of Matamata re coming Golf Tournament, project Leukaemia & Blood Foundation.
D.G. John’s E Mail re PHF Nominations for No Cost to Clubs
D.G. John’s E Mail re Nominations for R.I. Directors for 2009 Convention.
Rotary Club Agra-India re will host any International Rotary Group.
Camp Kaitawa Committee acknowledgement of Donation sent.
David Fine’s request to relinquish position of arranging Club Speakers, position.

OUTWARDS: – Reply to Dis Secretary & Newsletter Editor request, re new Member Glen.

Financial: No Report as Treasurer not in attendance.

General Business:
Discussion re arranging of Speakers. Suggestion to talk to David Davidson & Ian Cameron re take-over by a Member to do this job.
Ron Walker spoke re prospective Charity Celebrity dinner featuring Andy Dalton. Date to be Thurs. 17″ April. Discussion re Andy’s preferred Charity, which is Cure Kids.
Suggestion 50% of proceeds to Cure Kids, plus maybe another charity & put 10% to Club
Funds. Motion: – That the Directors recommend to the Club that the Celebrity Dinner go ahead and the proceeds distributed 50% to Cure Kids & 50% to Rotary Community
Projects. Ron/Pelle. Sustained.
Ron wishes to be able to liase [liaise] with Directors on the organization.

Ron was then asked to leave the meeting while discussion took place on his proposed resignation.
Discussion on the matter. Motion: – The Directors recommend to the Club that Ron Walker become an Honorary Member, and that this proposal be announced on 29th January.
Moved by Pelle, seconded Alison. Sustained. This to be discussed with Ron.

The Meeting then closed, and a meal was enjoyed together, with thanks to Pres Craig & Sharon.
