RALLY NOTES…RALLY NOTES…

RALLY HEADQUARTERS, in the Plunket Rooms at the Show grounds, phone number 66397.

All machines are to be presented for scrutineering as soon as possible on Friday. This will be done at RALLY HEADQUATERS.

ALL MACHINES, please are required for the Motor Show to be held in the Hastings Y.M.C.A. Stadium, Railway Road, This is S.H.2 south. Motorcycles will be accepted all day on Friday. Bikes will be under strict controll in the Stadium, and an all night guard, Dog and Man will be in attendance during the night. This is an important part of the Rally, and the organisers would be grateful for support. A bus has been laid on, and the timetable for this is printed on the back page of this newsletter.

NO EXTRA MEAL TICKETS are available. If you want a meal, and you have no ticket, approace [approach] the catereer [caterer] in Waikoko Gardens, and he may have a spare meal available. If not, a cuppa is available under the main grandstand.

H,B, Branch Spares will be open for pursual [perusal] on Sunday afternoon only. This is housed on private property and no person is allowed there without the Custodion. [Custodian]

The RALLY is being covered by our own Movie-Maker and this is going to be as full a coverage as possible.

The A.A. Motor World is also doing a small coverage of the Rally.

Please assist the Rally H.Q. staff by turning up in the times posted at Rally H.Q.

RALLY RUMINATINGS…

First time out
Ron Fellowes on his 22AJS combo. That is also his registration number. Which could make it difficult to swap plates…
Rex Lambess from Whangerai [Whangarei] on his 1911 Matchless.
Any more first time out???

Bill Piddington rode his 1913 AJS all the way from Timaru. Many people stopped him along the road and told him he was a week early for the RALLY. Bill was heading to Rotarua [Rotorua] for a week before the RALLY.

If any one has any problems on how to get any where, there are maps available, and the friendly staff in RALLY H.Q. will be only to pleased to assist you.

Meal times at WAIKOKO HOUSE at the Showgrounds, are by ticket only. Times are..

FRIDAY 6 to 7 pm.
SATURDAY   Breakker 9 to 10 am. Lunch 1 to 2pm.
Tea 6 to 7 pm
SUNDAY   Breakker 9 to 10 am. Good for that hangover.
Lunch 1 to 2pm

The Friday Noggin and Natter to be held under the Main grandstand is for all entrants, No charge, and invited guests.

The Saturday and Sunday nite doos are by ticket only and these both take place in the Assembly Hall in Heretaunga Street. Grid reference 9 on the Hastings Map in the RALLY Pack.

Enjoy yourselves while you are here, and do not be scared to ask the H.Q. staff for information.

FRIDAY.   5.15 – 6.30 pm.   Transport from YMCA stadium to your place of accommodation.
6.30 – 7.30pm   From accomadation to A and P showgrounds for Noggin and Natter under the grandstand.
10.30 – 11pm earlier or later.   From the Showgrounds to your accomadation.

SATURDAY 6 am – 7.30am.   From accomadation to YMCA to collect machines.
5.15pm – 6.30pm.   From YMCA to acconadation
7.15 – 8.15pm   From Accomadation to Assembly Hall
12.30am – 1.30   Earlier or later. Assembly Hall To Accomadation

SUNDAY.   7am – 8.30 am.   From accomadation to Assembly Hall.
10.30 pm onwards.   From Assembly Hall to Accomadation.

ON SALE AT RALLY.  Under Grandstand.

Harley Davidson Transfers; Indian Transfers, Footboard rubbers for Harley Davidson, Indian, Big X Henderson. Twist grips, Brown leather cable covers. Messinger no 3 leather seat. ½ round footblocks for Triumph, Norton, John Bull No 3 knee pads. Rubber Horn Bulbs. Hand books and posters.
