HASTINGS.

Dear Sir,

FAMILY TRAILER CLINIC

The Napier Brunch of the National Council of Women adopted us as a project for the International Year of the Child, the raising of funds for the provision of a mobile caravan to be used as a multi-purpose facility for the benefit of the children in the Napier, Hastings and Havelock North districts.

It is my pleasure to advise your organisation that the Family Trailer Clinic is now in the final stages of construction and will be ready for use shortly.

Ownership of the Family Trailer Clinic will be vested in the Hawke’s Buy Hospital Board and the Department of Health; repairs and maintenance will be apportioned on an equal basis between the two parties and it will be fully insured in the joint names of the Hawke’s Bay Hospital Board and the Department of Health.

Guidelines for its management and operation are now in the process of being drawn up and applications for the use of the Trailer will be through the local District Health Office.  Such use will not be restricted to health related activities but shall be extended to social and cultural activities for the benefit of the community.

The National Council of Women is continuing to raise funds for various items or equipment that are still required.  However, the provisions of such items need not delay the introduction of the use of the Trailer.  An announcement is expected to be made in the Press during the first week in May of the actual date from which use of the Trailer will commence.

Yours sincerely,
[Signature]
pp. Secretary.
