N.Z. AIRMAN’S WEDDING IN DEVON: Napier and Wanganui are well represented in this Devonshire wedding group, for the bridegroom is Maurice, only son of Canon W.G. and Mrs. Williams, of Napier, and formerly of Wanganui, and the best man is Trevor Silk, Mr. and Mrs. E.M. Silk’s younger son. A bridesmaid and standing next to her brother is Miss Sybil Williams. The pretty bride was Miss Penelope Barnes of Devon, and the group is taken in the garden of her mother’s home at Topsham. Maurice Williams is now operational pilot at Stradishall, R.A.F., Suffolk, No. 9 Bomber Squadron, and Trevor Silk is serving a short service commission at Ternhill, R.A.F., Shropshire. Miss Sybil Williams after gaining her diploma of education at London University, on her way home to New Zealand is to make a lecture tour of the Canadian colleges and secondary schools under the auspices of the Canadian National Council of Education. She returns to New Zealand in December.
