Newspaper Article 1944 – Nelson-Graham Wedding

A salvo in parties in the Waverley and Hastings areas preceded another popular match last Saturday – that of Phoebe Graham, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Graham’s second daughter, and William (“Punch”) Nelson, second son of the Oswald Nelsons of Mangapapa. Fetes were given by the A. J. Alexanders and S. F. Besleys, Mesdames B. Birch, I. Billinghurst, A. and E. Dickie, A. Lupton, I. Parsons, J. Walkinton, G. Court, D. Thomson, F. W. and O. M. Menzies, Dick, Farquharson, Lance and Miss Dora Nelson. Cream brocaded faconne sheer was worn by the bride and her ‘maids – her sister, Mrs. R. C. Wilson (New Plymouth), and Mary Grumitt, who trained with her at the Auckland Karitane Hospital; Philip Giblin and E. W. Symes attended the ‘groom. The newly-weds will farm at Maraekakaho.
