British Women’s Overseas Club Afternoon   March 1949

A pleasant afternoon was enjoyed by members of the British Women’s Overseas Club in Hastings last week. Mrs Thorburn presided, having taken over the presidency from Mrs. Malcolm Mason who has resigned after three years of faithful service.

It was decided for the convenience of members to hold the monthly meeting every third Wednesday in the month in St. Matthew’s Hall, April 20 being the next meeting. It is also the club’s third birthday, so a party is being held on that date. Scotch members as hostesses have arranged an interesting programme so an enjoyable afternoon is anticipated.

Donations of eggs and vegetable were presented by Mrs. Mason and Mrs. Young for club funds.

All old and new members were urgently requested to attend the birthday party
