Newspaper Article 1954 – Betrothal Announced

Betrothal Announced

Sequel to a visit to New Zealand by a young English physiotherapist, June, daughter of Captain and Mrs A. Rowlands, of Guildford, Surrey, was the recent announcement of her engagement to a New Zealand physician, Dr Hugh Eaton, now of Lower Hutt, son of Mr and Mrs G. H. Eaton, of Whakarara [Wakarara] Station,  Hawke’s Bay. Miss Rowlands, who is at present on the staff of St Luke’s Hospital, Guildford, will come to New Zealand to be married. Her fiance, who holds the rank of Squadron Leader, was an aide-de-camp to Sir Cyril Newall during the latter’s term as Governor-General of New Zealand. Later he studied medicine at Otago University.
