Seeking sketch plans for new Waikoko House

The Hawke’s Bay A and P Society has approached architects to draw up sketch plans for the new Waikoko House.

At the society’s general committee meeting yesterday, the secretary, Mr K. E. Moody, said it is hoped that the building will be opened for the 1977 show.

Mr Moody said the society is “anxious” to erect a building that will blend in with the character of the grounds.

“The building will be available for wedding receptions, socials, meetings and conferences,” Mr Moody said. He said a meeting will be held with the architects to discuss the society’s requirements. A Napier firm, Natusch, Shattky and Company has been approached by the society.

Details of the building, including its seating capacity, kitchen facilities and special rooms, were discussed at the meeting.
