Land sells for $5060 an acre
A block of 6.475 hectares (16 acres) of bare land in Percival Rd, Hastings, has sold for $81,000, or $5060 an acre, at an auction held on Friday.
It is understood it is the first time that bare land on the Heretaunga Plains has sold for more than $12,500 a hectare or $5000 an acre.
The land was auctioned by Wrightson NMA Ltd and sold on account of the estate of L. H. Hallet.
Most of the block, which is just off Evenden Rd, comprises Pakowhai silt loam with a smaller area of Hastings silt loam.
