Newspaper Article 1980 – Orphans reunion at Eskdale

Orphans reunion at Eskdale

About 80 former residents of France House for orphaned boys and boys from broken homes will hold a reunion at the weekend.

France Home, Eskdale, is now Beck House under the Department of Social Welfare.

The reunion has been organised to pay tribute to work done by the foster parents of France House for more than 20 years, Norman and Hazel Shaw.

The reunion organisers have had a special plaque made in honour of the work done by the Shaws. This will be unveiled at a Church service at Eskdale on Sunday afternoon.
