Newspaper Article 1982 – Barbecues for Fantasyland

Mr John Mills, left, director of parks and chairman of the youth committee of the Hastings Rotary Club, and Mr Charlie Trask, right, the past president of the club, are shown with councillor Michael Dunk as they handed over $850 worth of portable gas barbecues to be used at Fantasyland.

They will be hired out at $1.50 an hour and are the first part of a project by the club to develop a family barbecue area at Fantasyland.

Money for the two barbecues was raised by a charity golf match.
