99 YEARS

The changing faces of The Stortford Lodge Hotel.

1884
The year the Hotel was built, in a position 1/2 mile south of present position on Maraekakaho Road.

30 years later
This photo was taken in 1913 or 1914, when E. A. Grenside owned the hotel.

1953
Mr Byron Buchanan purchased the Stortford Lodge Hotel on the 1st November, 1953. It had changed little in appearance since 1884.

1983
‘The Lodge’ as it looks today. Extensive modifications make it almost impossible to recognise the buildings origins.
