Newspaper Article 1984 – 90th Birthday

MORE than 100 members of the Horne family gathered recently at the Milson Combined Church to pay homage to Constance Horne, of Napier, on her 90th birthday.

Alex Horne welcomed all the relatives and Campbell Thomson made the birthday speech, and presented his great-aunt with a leather bound visitors’ book, signed by all present.

Mrs Horne was helped by Charlie Sinclair in the cutting of the cake.

Mrs Horne had driven her own car from Napier to Palmerston North to be the honoured guest. She has been driving for 74 years and her reminiscences of her motoring in her 1910 Cadillac captivated her audience.
