Newspapers in Education launched

The Hawke’s Bay Herald Tribune’s Newspapers In Education project was launched last night in Hastings.

The Herald-Tribune will publish a weekly Newspapers In Education project page and has supplied classroom study kits to schools.

Checking to see the work is up to standard are, left to right, Mr Jack Moir, the district reading adviser with the Hawke’s Bay Education Board; Mr Denis Duffy, the head of the English department at St John’s College; Mr Rod Dowling, the Herald-Tribune’s Newspapers in Education co-ordinator; Ms Prue Neild, the head of the English department at Karamu High School; and Mr Keith Wagener, the Newspapers in Education editor, of New Zealand News.

The MP for Hastings, Mr David Butcher was a special guest at the launching.
