Farmers give $2000 to hail fund

Hawke’s Bay Federated Farmers has given $2000 to the hail disaster relief fund.

President Timothy Plummer said the money would be provided from the Hawke’s Bay province’s own adverse events fund.

After past climatic events, pastoral farms had received support from many quarters. They felt sympathetic toward their colleagues on the land, Mr Plummer said.

The latest donation brings the fund total to $97,654.
