Children thrilled at reading programme

Storyteller Mona Williams, pictured left at the Waipukurau public library, is proving a crowd thriller in this year’s summer reading programme in Central Hawke’s Bay.

Sessions at the Waipawa and Waipukurau libraries have been very well supported, as was a family meal and story evening at Abbotslee Tearooms, Waipawa, last week. Ms Williams’ daughter, Sheba, a singer, also entertained the Abbotslee audience.

Some proceeds from the evening, plus a donation from Abbotslee, also boosted the libraries’ CD ROM collection by $230.
