Newspaper Article 2002 – Looking back

Looking back …

MURRAY Houston of Hastings lent us this photograph of the Hastings Railways staff in 1933-34.

It features Murray’s father, James, fourth from the left of the men standing on the railway line, and his sister Winifred (who will celebrate her 91st birthday this year), seated in the front row, third from the left.

At the time the railway station was located opposite the present Kmart building.
