Janice takes on new role

The Community Foundation (HB) has recruited Havelock North’s Janice Gilmour as its new administrator.

Janice, a former president of the Hastings Parent Centre who has held administration positions with various Hawke’s Bay businesses and organisations, will team up with Wellington consultant Tony Pilalis to improve the charitable foundation’s services in the community.

Those services include encouraging philanthropy, serving donors’ needs and meeting community needs with project-based funding, guidance, or mentoring.

“The foundation has already had indications of more than $1million in endowments from people who wish to make a permanent impact on Hawke’s Bay, and there is a need to capitalise on this to expand the pool,” the foundation’s chairman Peter Dunkerley says.

Janice replaces Tony Bryan, who is concentrating on his new role as assistant director governor for Rotary District 992.
