Warren’s Bakery in Russell St, Hastings is for sale as a going concern.
Established in 1891 by Mr Robert Warren, it is now acknowledged as being the oldest family owned and operated bakery still in existence in New Zealand.
Marketed by Les Kennedy and Peter Green, of Property Brokers Commercial, the business is for sale by negotiation.
Owned and operated by Malcolm and Robyn Warren, fourth generation family members, Warren’s Bakery received “Excellence in Hospitality” trophies in the Hastings Best Business Awards in 2001 and 2004.
Renowned for genuine personal service, all Warren’s staff ensure each customer is received warmly and with good, old fashioned respect.

In 1941, the business was relocated to its current premises at 123 Russell St, Hastings, and in 2001 Malcolm and Robyn expanded the business to include the current cafe and the lovely sunny outdoor area.
Warren’s is open Monday to Friday, 7am to 4.30pm, and Saturdays, 9am to 2pm.
Malcolm uses his 38 years of experience to create the sumptuous food in the large well equipped bakery while Robyn manages the cafe along with her team of highly qualified staff.
The premises consist of 287 sq m with 20 sq m of mezzanine.
The six-year lease has two further terms of six years with final expiry on November 30, 2025. Current gross rental in $2868 per month plus GST.
Rent reviews are two yearly.
Warren’s Bakery certainly is a “slice of Hawke’s Bay history”, with a reputation second to none.
