New park book
A new book about Pakowhai Country Park has been launched by Hawke’s Bay Regional Council and can be purchased from the council for $20.
Pakowhai Country Park: A brief history 1970-2012 has been compiled by Garth Eyles, the regional council’s retired land manager.
The park, in Hastings, had been landscaped over 40 years.
Mr Eyles has updated a previous published history, adding recent information and including the seven landscape plans that shaped the park.
