The original “Iron Pot”, after which the harbour of that name is said to have been called, was, so it is claimed, recovered a few days ago off Whakaari. It is now in Messrs Ellison and Duncan’s store at Port Ahuriri.

Instead of using water a number of Napier shopkeepers are now sprinkling the footpath in front of their shops with disinfectant. A number of shops are also being scrubbed out with water containing disinfectant.

A motor car ran into and carried away one of the verandah posts of Mr S Tong‘s shop in Karamu Road last evening. The car was considerably damaged.
