Highlight of my life: Yule sworn in as MP

DELIGHTED: New Zealand’s 52nd Parliament opened yesterday and MPs were sworn in. MP for Tukituki, Lawrence Yule said “it was the highlight of my life”. “It’s humbling to be sworn into Parliament and have a chair, and a door with my name on it.” His wife and sister joined him and watched from the gallery. “As my surname begins with ‘Y’, they saw everyone from Bill English to Jacinda Ardern be sworn in, so they had plenty of time to see how it was done. It has taken a while from the election night to this stage, but I’m delighted for the opportunity to be MP for Tukituki and will work hard to support the people,” Mr Yule said.
