“Bon Voyage” to Woodville’s Mayoress

A very happy time was spent at the Parish hall, Woodville yesterday afternoon when members of the Women’s Institute and friends, met to wish the Mayoress, Mrs H. P. Horne, bon voyage on the eve of her trip to Honolulu.

Games were indulged in, and vocal items were given by Miss F. Giles, Mesdames Schroder and Keay and recitations by Mrs A.H. Vile.

Mrs J. S. Nelson the president of the Institute, wished both the Mayor and Mayoress a pleasant journey and a safe return.

Miss Brenda Jaine, presented Mrs Horne with a bouquet, and also wished her a happy holiday.

Mrs Horne thanked all present for the good wishes.

A very dainty tea was served and the singing of “Auld Lang Syne” concluded a very happy function.
