Newspaper Article – Hawke’s Bay Representative Cricket Team

The Hawke’s Bay representative cricket team left Napier by air this morning for their Hawke Cup challenge match against Nelson at Nelson. The challenge is Hawke’s Bay’s first since 1960. The match starts tomorrow and finishes on Monday. The above photograph shows the team as it prepared to board an aircraft at Napier this morning. From left to right the team is:-
Mr H.E.I. Reaney (manager and selector), P. Knight, K. Dunning, M. Shrimpton, H. Larmer, D. Burns, B. Haynes, G. Mackenzie, G. Martin (captain), B. Sergent, J. O’Shaughnessy, and L. Totty.

The other member of the team, Richard Small, joined the plane at Wellington.
